RULES OF THE RINK

The Rink at Royal Oak is designed to be a fun, safe experience for everyone! Regardless of your level of skill, there are elements of risk in ice skating. Use common sense, show courtesy to others, and anticipate dangerous situations before they arise.

  • Participation in the rink requires agreement to our rink policy. The policy will be posted onsite, and is available for download here.

  • Spectators & Participants assume all inherent risks while skating

  • Follow all announcements and obey the instructions of the ice attendants.

  • No alcohol allowed besides a drink from a restaurant participating in the Social District. Drink must be in a Social District cup to be allowed.

  • A rink-issued wristband is required to enter the ice rink. Wristbands can be purchased at the Skate House.

  • Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

  • Please stay on the rubber flooring while wearing ice skates.

  • No one is permitted on the ice without ice skates.

  • No one is permitted on the ice during resurfacing.

  • The rink reserves the right to interrupt, stop, or cancel ice skating sessions.

  • No food, drinks, or breakable objects on the ice.

  • No chewing, smoking, or other tobacco products are allowed on the ice rink

  • No sitting or climbing on the railing.

  • Do not congregate at the railings or block the entrances or exits.

  • No using hockey sticks, pucks, or balls.

  • No skating against the flow of traffic.

  • Spins and jumps are not permitted when the rink is crowded. The center of the ice may be used for figure skating only at the discretion of the rink attendant.

  • No weaving in between other skaters

  • No pushing, pulling, shaving, or any other form of horseplay.

  • No carrying a child while ice skating. This is very dangerous for the child.

  • No more than two people may hold hands while skating.

  • No profane, obscene, or indecent clothing.

  • Report any incident, accident, or injury to the ice attendant immediately.

  • Please be considerate of others at all times.

  • The Rink at Royal Oak reserves the right to deny service to anyone that violates these rules.
